Sorry about the delay in replying Feralfish!
There is no real intention as far as direction is concerned. The idea is just growing organically. It is definitely not a competition, more a testing ground for your skills. You step in the circle and you defend yourself against whatever comes your way.
Now either you manage it well or you take a beating, either way you come out of it having learned something about yourself and the way you practice.
It is a growing intention to offer the chance to others but we need first to be sure of ourselves as far as the structure of these events is concerned.
Will keep you posted as things progress.
Chris

Your thoughts on suitable head gear guys please.
During the tourney a number of bouts were suspended whilst head gear was re aligned/put back on etc.
Without exception these were the semi contact dipped foam variety. Theses are fine for juniors where the level of contact/grappling is minimal. They are not suitable for adults where the reverse is true.
Also there were problems with the full face boxing style of guard.
My feeling is that the semi face pro boxing head guard should be the standard.
Because; they remain in situ even in grappling scenarios and allow good visibility.
Also gum shields, groin guards, shin, knee and elbow protection must be worn.
Your thoughts
